A whisper in her ear... A voice in her head... A dream...or a recurring nightmare? From unconscious thought to conscious shock, our story begins, at first in regression, and then - Smith Chandler, now a design architect with his own team, calls on an old college friend (who was also a previous girlfriend), Tessa Young, hoping to recruit her to help him complete a special new build. It requires the reconstruction of an authentic 17th century labyrinth on the grounds where Smith is designing a mammoth custom home for his clients. Labyrinths her special talent, Tessa finally and cautiously agrees to come on board and work with Smith's team. Smith, however, soon becomes doubtful that she can actually accomplish the task, constantly battling 'monsters' of some sort, and almost daily nightmares for which she needs unending support from her therapist, Dr. Brenner. Around and around the story spins, with a new twist and turn on every page. 'Monsters' and nightmares, well-developed characters, and an intriguing and enticing plot made this story nearly impossible to put down. At the end, we finally find ourselves in the center of the labyrinth, where all our questions are answered, and all the pieces fit together perfectly. This is how our character finally finds her peace, finally finds her God. This is a perfect example of how God longs to draw us all - through the crazy maze of our lives to that quiet center where He is, and where we can find peace and healing for all our hurts. If we will only follow His voice, He will lead us there. What a compelling story this is, and one I would like to return to again sometime, especially amidst the craziness of my life!
